Built on tradition, service, and heart, we’re proud to be a locally owned restaurant serving our community. As a Greek and first responder family, hospitality is simply who we are and the foundation of everything we do.
At Kamari Kafe, breakfast and lunch are just the beginning. Inspired by our Greek upbringing, we carry forward the values our parents instilled in us: hard work, heartfelt hospitality, and food meant to be shared.
Our journey began in Uncle Gus's snack shop in Bucktown, where we first learned the true meaning of a family business.
While life led us down different paths, one serving our community as a police officer and the other building a career in HR, we raised our two children together, all while our hearts remained in the kitchen, especially our mother Maria's, where no guest ever left hungry.
'Kamari' (Καμάρι) is a term of endearment she used to welcome everyone who walked through her doors, meaning "our pride and joy." It continues to inspire our name and everything we do.
